Every piece created in the Clotho Atelier is approached with patience and care. Counted cross stitch is a slow and deliberate craft, where accuracy and consistency are just as important as the design itself. Each stitch is placed with attention so that the finished work will sit neatly on the fabric and stand the test of time.
The stitching began from the centre of the pattern and is gradually expanding outward as the design takes shape. Progress will be documented here as the piece develops, until the final stitches are placed and the work moves into the Atalier Gallery as a completed piece.
Luna Moth is a personal piece, commenced on 9 March 2026.
Counted Pattern. 14ct Aida. DMC thread. Two stands.
Cross-stitches for the entire pattern.
The original charts leave significant negative space. To align with the Theophora aesthetic of 'Domestic Satiety', I will introduce a half-stitch background. This creates a soft, tactile depth that anchors the piece without overwhelming the delicate palette.
The design size: 19.41 x 19.23 cm.
107 x 106 = 11,342 total stitches.
This piece is currently in progress. Once the stitching is complete, it will be finished in the quality Beechwood 24-26mm deep embroidery hoop it is currently sitting on.
