You Are So Loved was a personal piece, commenced on 6 January 2024 and completed on 11 September 2024. It is one of two cross-stitches curated as a set for a child. Note: Due to the personalisation, some details are not visible to protect privacy

For You Are So Loved, the original charts left significant negative space. To align with the Theophora aesthetic of 'Domestic Satiety', I introduced a half-stitch background. This creates a soft, tactile depth that anchors the piece without overwhelming the delicate palette.

The Materiality
The colour palette was intentionally departed from the standard, utilising a curated selection of DMC Metallic and Étoile threads. These specialty fibers add a subtle, celestial shimmer and a sophisticated texture that standard cotton cannot achieve, transforming a traditional craft into a piece of luminous textile art.
